Day 4, 1/21/24 Cloudy weather and choppy sea

P bought some drammamin made with natural ginger for the trip, turns out it’s not effective… We tried to find regular drammamin @ the shop on the ship but strangely they did not carry any and want us to consult the ship doctor if it gets really bad…. A nice lady overheard our conversation and quickly offered to give us some of hers….. And it works!!! Eureka!!! P is up and running the decks an hour later…

And well enough to take jitterbug classes😉

Cruise Hacks We Have So Far…

(from top left)

  • A motion sensor light in the bathroom – when in the middle of the night, it’s not nice to turn on the bright light while the other is sleeping. This little light is just soft enough and turns on when one enters the bathroom. It’s USB charged too.
  • An additional chair – we did not need a small table. We asked the steward to switch to a chair, so we have a micro-mini suite seating now.
  • A magnet for shoe helper – I don’t want to mess up my knuckles getting shoes onto my feet. So I brought a shoe helper and attached it to a magnet. Placed it near the shoe storage so it’s not visually intrusive and is handy when needed.
  • Compartments – It helped me to be organized when in a tight living space. I also brought way too many things that I needed to compartmentalize them so I remember where they are.
  • Magnets!! – for us, this is a huge one. All the walls inside is made of steel. It’s nice to personalize it and make it a giant clipboard.

Some facts….

This ship has almost 2000 passengers, 900 crews, Island Princess is a smaller ship amongst Princess’s fleet but we love that it’s cozier.. … Not all are doing 111 days…. Some are doing segments only, leaving @ Sydney, some @Dubai…etc…many are earnestly participating in all sorts of activities.. thus the events are mostly packed….R is glad she brought her own ukulele as they ran out of ukelele’s to loan at class….

Always love looking at cabin door decors and here are some for your amusement
